[Podcasts] Mobilising more for climate

General - 28 June, 2022

Biodiversity, conservation, and nature-based solutions are essential for healthy societies, resilient economies and thriving businesses. However, there is a gap between new and existing development and climate investments and global funding for biodiversity, conservation, and nature-based solutions. Through a new series of Mobilising more for climate podcasts we will bring stories from the forefront of nature and climate finance that can help close this gap.

Through their investment activities financial institutions have an impact on nature and its capacity to provide resilience. This impact can be positive, for example, by financing restoration, protection of nature or the transformation towards sustainable land use practices via a number of financial vehicles. That is why the brand-new Mobilising more for climate podcast will discuss examples of conservation finance and nature-based solutions in low-income and lower-middle-income countries. In each episode, we examine the importance of investing in local projects with a return on nature, people and climate.

The Mobilising More for Climate programme

The podcast series is part of the Green Finance Academy of the Mobilising More for Climate programme; a five-year programme implemented by IUCN NL, WWF NL and Tropenbos International, funded by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The aim is to bring together entrepreneurs, firms, policymakers, investors and civil society organisations so new collaborations and projects that focus on nature conservation are initiated.
